What is Unfollowo and how does it work?
Unfollowo is a privacy-first way to make sense of your Instagram account. Instead of asking for your password, it reads the official data file that Instagram lets you download and analyses it right inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
How do I find out who unfollowed me?
Request your data from Instagram (Settings → Accounts Center → Download your information) and choose the JSON format. When the .zip arrives, drop it onto Unfollowo and you will instantly see who is not following you back.
Do I need to sign up or create an account?
No. There is no registration, no email gate and no login. You upload your export and the results appear — that is the whole flow.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature — unfollower lists, your year in review, follower analytics — is available without a paywall, a trial or a credit card.
Privacy & security
Is my Instagram data safe?
Completely. All parsing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your file is never sent to a server, never stored and never logged. Close the tab and everything is wiped from memory.
Do you ever need my Instagram password?
Never. Unfollowo only works with the official export Instagram provides, which is a method Instagram itself supports. We have no way to see, request or store your credentials.
Can my account get banned for using Unfollowo?
No. Because we never touch Instagram's API and never automate any action on your behalf, there is nothing that could put your account at risk.
Will anyone know I checked?
No one. The analysis runs only on your device and never interacts with Instagram, so your activity stays completely private.

What exactly can I see?
Among other things: accounts that do not follow you back, people who unfollowed you, your most engaged followers, your follower-to-following ratio, messaging stats and a shareable year-in-review.
What is the year-in-review feature?
It is a Spotify-Wrapped-style recap built from your real export — your standout moments, most loyal followers and messaging highlights, packaged into stories you can share.
Can I track changes over time?
Yes. Download a fresh export every so often (monthly works well) and compare the results to see who joined and who left since last time.
Does it work with business and creator accounts?
Yes — personal, creator and business accounts all work the same way and unlock the same insights.
Technical
How long does the export take to arrive?
Usually a few minutes to a couple of hours. Very large accounts can take up to 48 hours. Instagram emails you when the file is ready to download.
Which format should I pick — JSON or HTML?
Choose JSON. HTML works too, but JSON is cleaner and faster for Unfollowo to read.
My file will not upload. What is wrong?
Make sure you are uploading the original .zip without extracting it first. The name usually looks like "instagram-username-date.zip". If it still fails, request a fresh export.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Unfollowo is fully responsive, so you can run the whole analysis straight from your mobile browser.
